Audio Projects

logoWhile at NSF, I had a radio show called Dig This! where I interviewed NSF-funded researchers about their anthropology and paleontology-themed research. I wrote and edited each piece; each program was edited in Audacity, although occasionally I used Garage Band to mix in the music. The original link to this series is no longer available, but the series itself may be accessed on NSF’s new multimedia platform, Science Zone, on the Google Play and Apple App stores.

TobinimgThis is an NSF’s Science360 Radio interview I conducted and edited, as an intern; it was featured in their December 14th, 2012 edition. I interviewed Tom Tobin, Paleontology Graduate Researcher at the University of Washington, about his breakthrough extinction research. I used Audacity to edit the interview, and Garageband to mix in the music. Unfortunately, like the series above, it was removed from it’s original link and can now only be found on NSF’s Science Zone app.

This was my final project for my Latin Pulse practicum at American University. Latin Pulse was American University’s Latin Affairs podcast out of the school of communication, and run by the then-journalism department chair, Rick Rockwell. I interviewed two experts on Marijuana legalization, and one Latin American expert on the topic. I used Garageband for most of the editing, but I also briefly used Audacity to fix some of the audio in one of my interviews. This piece was featured on Latin Pulse’s first episode of 2013.

Besides the above audio projects, I narrated and edited two audio narrations for Audible. Those may be found here.
